El-Sayegh, born in Selangor, Malaysia, in 1985 and now dwelling in London, makes work, sculptures, installations, movies and performances that assemble disparate supplies to discover the human physique and thoughts inside numerous social, cultural and political contexts. Shifting freely and intuitively throughout these disciplines and media, she creates arresting correspondences between picture and textual content, between the pure and the substitute, and between the senses and the mind.
