Speculation surrounding the integration of crypto in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has reemerged. The conversation began over a year ago and continues to capture the attention of gamers and crypto enthusiasts.
Recently, a crypto influencer known as Gordon claimed in an X post that “GTA 6 will enable cryptocurrency payments,” specifically naming Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT. This post quickly went viral, amassing over 720,000 views at the time of writing.
However, no official confirmation has come from neither Rockstar Games, the game’s developer, nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

When asked for sources, Gordon responded that his “uncle works there.” Due to the lack of concrete evidence, the post triggered the “readers added context” feature on X, which clarified that the news remains a rumor.
The speculation initially surged after the first trailer for GTA 6 leaked last December with a “BUY BTC” watermark, added by the leaker.
As it stands, no definitive evidence supports the inclusion of crypto in GTA 6. While Rockstar Games hasn’t ruled out the possibility, no confirmations have been made, so the debate is likely to continue as fans eagerly await the game’s expected release in fall 2025.
