Jaypeg, a crypto influencer, faces allegations of a scam involving the “Uptober” memecoin.
According to claims from Uptober’s developers and community members, Jaypeg was supposed to endorse their memecoin in exchange for 2% of its total supply, worth around $2,200.
After accepting this deal on Telegram and receiving the tokens, Jaypeg is said to have sold them and then denied any receipt of funds.

Jaypeg asserted that he had accidentally shared the wrong wallet address, beginning with “8jpz1p,” which ended up receiving the tokens. He explained that this was the reason he later deleted the message containing the address.
To clear things up, the Uptober team reached out to blockchain analyst ZackXBT, who found links between the wallet address and Jaypeg’s earlier activities. This address had been used to claim airdrops from the Solana Saga smartphone in January this year—shortly after Jaypeg posted an unboxing video discussing the device.
Despite the presented evidence, Jaypeg continues to deny any connection to the wallet, even going as far as accusing the Uptober team of blackmail. Additionally, he announced that he had donated the disputed funds to charity.
This incident has sparked a wider conversation within the crypto sphere about the ethics of influencer promotions and the need for transparency.
