This December, golf players will compete for a $10 million prize pool awarded in the platform’s native Cronos
The highly anticipated Crypto.com Showdown will take place at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada. Representing the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will square off against Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka of LIV Golf.

This 18-hole contest will feature a format reminiscent of the “Ryder Cup-style event”, including match-play rounds with variations like four-ball, singles, and alternate shot.
DeChambeau, speaking on behalf of LIV Golf, described the event as an innovation to maximize fan engagement. He stated:
The Showdown has been about innovation from the beginning and our commitment to delivering the best entertainment possible for the fans by uniting our sport <…> It is beyond exciting to have Crypto.com now on board to provide a true first with a crypto currency based prize purse.
Scheduled for December 17, the Turner Network Television (TNT) network will broadcast the competition.
