CZ, Vitalik, and Arthur Hayes Are All Bullish On Decentralized Science And You Should Be Too
Back in November 2024 there was a Decentralized Science (DeSci) meetup at Devcon, led by Vitalik Buterin and CZ. In the days following that viral meet-up, the DeSci category on CoinGecko shot up over 30%, passing $1 billion in combined market cap.
Even though the sector has been flying under the radar since that November meetup, its combined market cap is over $1.3 billion today. This illustrates the steady growth of the emerging industry during a period when AI and meme coins have dominated mindshare.

It has worked alongside further life sciences partners and patient organizations to carry out successful projects in registry science, Patient Support Programs, and preselection to clinical trials.

is a project at the center of DeSci, specifically longevity science research. As a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), it is a leading DeSci project with links to Vitalik Buterin. The DAO focuses on funding early-stage longevity research. Researchers with ideas on how to extend lifespans can pitch their thesis to secure funding.
VitaDAO’s goals have received backing from pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. Since its launch in 2021, VitaDAO has raised over $10 million, dedicating over 40% of this to various research initiatives.
