Infinite Node Publishes A Detailed CryptoPunks NFT Book

Infinite Node Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the preservation, study, and exhibition of digital art, has partnered with Phaidon, the premier global publisher of the creative arts, and the Zak group office to publish a detailed digital book for the CryptoPunks non-fungible token project. Zak Group is a design platform initiating ideas for creative partners in the fields of art, architecture, design, fashion, and entertainment.

Infinite Node Launches A Punks NFT Book

In a May 29 blog post, the Infinite Node Foundation confirmed that they have partnered with Phaidon, one of the leading global digital books publishers, among other contributors, to publish the CryptoPunks NFT book. An NFT Book is a digital format of a physical book that is hosted on a blockchain network. It contains the same content as its physical counterpart but comes with the benefits of NFTs such as ownership, scarcity, and collectability.

Previously created in 2017 by the digital asset firm Larva Labs, CryptoPunks is a digital art project featuring a limited set of 10,000 unique characters hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network. This NFT collection challenged traditional notions of art, ownership, and community. Their influence extends far beyond the blockchain, sparking a cultural shift that continues to reshape our digital world.

The CryptoPunks NFT collections were created to be truly decentralized and have become a defining example of digital permanence and online network effects. The CryptoPunks NFT collection has grown to become one of the largest NFT collections in the global NFT market, generating over $377 million in secondary sales in 2024 alone. Before recently landing in the hands of Infinite Node, Punks have been under the good care of the digital asset firm Yuga Labs.

The Infinite Node Foundation, a renowned non-profit endowment dedicated to conserving digital art, acquired the full intellectual property rights for CryptoPunks from the Bored Ape Yacht Club creator Yuga Labs earlier this month. This purchase secured long-term stewardship for Punks and launched an ambitious museum-partnership program to embed them in leading art institutions worldwide.

During the acquisition, Node shared that it will be committed to stewarding the CryptoPunks art legacy through three pillars of preservation, community, and expansion. This includes building a network architecture that will allow digital art like CryptoPunks to be studied, exhibited, and contextualized within both digital and art-historical canons. Infinite Node was the first nonprofit to acquire full IP rights to a major NFT artwork.

Punks NFT Book Overview

To fulfill its commitment, Infinite Node Foundation has joined hands with other contributors, including Phaidon, to publish a Punk NFT book. This 836-page tome dives into the world of Punks, combining essays, community archives, and an index of all 10,000 CryptoPunks NFTs, categorized by Number, Type, Attributes, Pixel Colors, and ImageHash. Art enthusiasts can claim the Punks NFT book for free and stand a chance to win other rewards.
