Google has released a new test app powered by artificial intelligence (AI), known as Doppl, which lets users see how different clothes might look on themselves.
According to a June 26 blog post from Google, the app is available on iOS and Android, but only in the United States.
Doppl allows users to upload a full-body photo. Then, they can choose pictures of clothes, which could be screenshots from social media or photos of items in a store.

The app takes these clothing images and places them on a digital version of the user to show what the outfit might look like when worn.
Besides showing static images, Doppl can also turn these virtual outfits into short videos. These clips show how the clothes might look while moving, which helps users get a better sense of how the outfit would appear in everyday situations.
Google stated that Doppl builds on previous tools from its Shopping platform, where people could view clothing on different model types. The difference is that Doppl creates a version of the user instead of using preset models.
The company also noted that the app is still an experimental version. Doppl may not always get the fit, colors, or details exactly right.
