The trader known as the “Trump Tariff Whale”, famous for perfectly timing major news events, has opened a $100 million long position on Hyperliquid with an average entry near $2,965. The position is now in profit, and the liquidation price sits far away at $1,597. This is one of the biggest single bets on Ethereum in recent months and shows clear confidence that the next move is up, not down. Large players rarely risk this kind of size unless they see strong catalysts ahead.

Glassnode data confirms that only 8.8% of all ETH now sits on centralized exchanges, the lowest level since Ethereum’s launch in 2015. That number has fallen 43 % since July. Bitcoin, by comparison, still has 14.7 % of its supply on exchanges. The missing ETH has been moved into staking contracts (nearly 30% of the total supply), restaking platforms, Layer-2 networks, corporate treasuries, and private wallets.

Once coins leave exchanges for these destinations, they almost never return quickly. A less available supply means any increase in buying pressure can push the price much higher than normal.

On-balance volume (OBV) broke above a key resistance line last week, even though the price was briefly rejected at $3,200. This positive divergence often appears before strong upward moves.

At the same time, the ETHBTC pair broke its multi-month downtrend, a sign that Ethereum may soon outperform Bitcoin again.
