When creating an Instagram Story, tapping the paintbrush icon at the top opens the “Restyle” section. Users can write short instructions in a box. They can choose from “add”, “remove”, or “change” and describe what they would like to see.
In addition to free-form changes, the tool also offers built-in options. These include changing clothes in the image, such as adding sunglasses or a jacket.
There are also filters, such as watercolor effects, for images. For videos, options include adding visual effects like snow or flames.
However, using these tools comes with certain conditions. Meta’s AI Terms of Service apply whenever this feature is used. These terms state that AI systems may review uploaded photos for analysis of visual content, including facial features.
The content may be adjusted, summarized, or used to generate new versions based on the original upload.
