After the latest 4.1 update, Elon Musk’s chatbot Grok started giving flattering replies about its creator.
Users on X noticed that Grok claimed Musk was more attractive than Brad Pitt, in better shape than LeBron James, and even capable of defeating Mike Tyson in a boxing match.
Musk said the messages came from “adversarial prompting”, which means people tried to get strange or extreme answers.

However, many in the tech and crypto communities noted that this incident shows why artificial intelligence (AI) should not be controlled by one company or individual.
Shaw Walters, founder of the AI startup Eliza Labs, called the situation “very dangerous”. He explained that it is not about whether someone likes or dislikes Musk, but about the power that comes from combining a social media platform with an AI system trained on user data.
Walters said millions of people currently rely on Grok as a source of truth, which makes centralized control risky.
His company, Eliza Labs, filed an antitrust case against Musk’s platform X in August. The lawsuit claims that X stole data from Eliza Labs, suspended its account, and later released similar AI tools.
