Bitcoin ETFs Flip Positive With $119M Inflow
Institutional positioning split sharply across the crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) market Tuesday.
Bitcoin recovered quickly from Monday’s redemptions, with investors putting $118.86 million back into spot funds. Blackrock’s IBIT accounted for $122 million of that demand, reinforcing the fund’s role as the primary destination for fresh institutional capital.
Morgan Stanley’s MSBT added $7.84 million. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust recorded a $10.97 million outflow. Trading value reached $1.84 billion, while net assets closed at $110.68 billion.
The concentration matters. Recent flows suggest investors remain willing to add bitcoin exposure, though their preference is increasingly centered on a small group of large, liquid products.
Ether Selling Becomes Harder to Dismiss
Ether ETFs moved deeper into a sustained withdrawal cycle.
The group lost $201.89 million, marking a sixth consecutive session of net outflows. The entire exit came from Blackrock’s ETHA, while every other ether ETF recorded no net movement. Trading activity reached $719.91 million, with net assets falling to $17.36 billion.
The size of Tuesday’s redemption makes the recent trend more significant. Earlier outflows had already suggested cooling demand. A single $200 million-plus withdrawal now adds greater pressure to the institutional picture around ether.
That divergence leaves bitcoin price momentum and bitcoin ETF flows looking considerably stronger than the equivalent signals for ether.
XRP Attracts Buyers as Solana Remains Soft
XRP ETFs returned to inflows with $3.14 million, though activity varied sharply between funds.
Bitwise’s XRP product attracted $10.55 million. Franklin’s XRPZ lost $4.07 million, while Canary’s XRPC shed $3.34 million. Net assets climbed to $1.70 billion on trading activity of $30.53 million.
HYPE ETFs also finished higher, adding $2.98 million. Grayscale’s HYPG brought in $1.95 million, and Bitwise’s BHYP added $1.03 million.
Solana remained under pressure. ETFs lost $3.68 million as Grayscale’s GSOL shed $3.75 million. A small $60,540 inflow into Invesco’s QSOL provided little offset.
Zcash and NEAR ETFs recorded no net flows.
Blackrock Sees Bitcoin Ownership Moving Toward ETFs
Blackrock’s U.S. head of equity ETFs, Jay Jacobs, offered useful context for IBIT’s persistent demand.
He said lower thresholds for in-kind transfers have “opened the floodgates” for investors looking to move direct bitcoin holdings into ETF structures. Jacobs also described a broader shift in wealth management toward finding “the best way to own bitcoin in my portfolio.”
That transition could help explain why IBIT continues to draw capital even during mixed sessions across the wider crypto market. ETFs allow investors to outsource custody while gaining easier access to options, hedging and portfolio financing strategies.
The product pipeline is also expanding. The Winklevoss twins have filed for a spot Zcash product under the proposed ticker WINK, adding to competition in the single-asset ETF market.
Tuesday’s flows ultimately pointed to a narrowing hierarchy: bitcoin demand remains durable, ether is facing sustained withdrawals, and capital further down the crypto curve is being deployed selectively.
