Tefaf Maastricht was evacuated this morning after a number of males, at the very least one among whom was reportedly armed, tried to rob a jewelry stand.
Two photographs circulating on Twitter present two vitrines had been broken on the stand, considered that of London seller Symbolic & Chase, although it’s not clear whether or not something was taken. In one other video, one man is proven smashing a glass cupboard with a mallet whereas two different males chase away different sellers and guests. One seems to be holding a gun.
In a press release, Tefaf says: “At roughly 11.30am, Tefaf Maastricht was evacuated resulting from an incident inside the honest. The honest’s safety groups labored rapidly to disarm an offender and Dutch police had been on website inside minutes. No one was injured through the incident.”
Based on the assertion, the honest’s “stringent security procedures” had been adopted and all guests had been efficiently evacuated. A spokesperson for Tefaf provides: “Tefaf has strong procedures within the occasion of a safety breach. These had been exactly adopted, and all guests, exhibitors and workers had been safely evacuated. The honest has now reopened. Two males had been reportedly arrested as a part of a police investigation.
