A borderless internet? That’s the bold vision Mysterium Network is bringing to life, connecting people without limits or censorship.

Mysterium Network is a decentralized, peer-to-peer system that allows users to access the internet privately and securely by routing their data through a network of global nodes.

This network is for anyone who values online freedom. For node runners, it’s a way to earn crypto while supporting a censorship-free internet.

For users, it provides secure, anonymous access, allowing them to connect globally without restrictions.

What Are MYST Nodes?

MYST nodes act as anonymous access points to the internet using your device’s IP address (if you run that node). The more nodes there are in different locations, the more resistant the network becomes to censorship.

Running a MYST node is as simple as installing MystNodes software on your computer, phone, or hardware devices like Raspberry Pi.

When others use your node to access the web, they securely connect through your IP, and in return, you earn Mysterium tokens

for the data traffic passing through. The more traffic your node handles, the more passive income you generate.

How to Set Up a MYST Node?

Setting up a MYST node is quick and easy, taking less than 3 minutes:

  1. Go to MystNodes and click “Sign Up”. After registering, confirm your email.
  2. Log in to my.mystnodes.com, then click “Setup Node”.
  3. Choose your device, download the node setup file, and follow the setup instructions.
  4. Run the downloaded file, accept the terms, and click “Next”.
  5. Click “Onboard” to start the node setup.
  6. Connect a Web3 wallet when prompted during installation.
  7. Complete the setup by clicking “Next” and, for maximum uptime, enable “Launch your MystNodes on system startup”.

That’s it, your node is active. Initially, the status may show “Pending” for about 15 minutes. Once it turns “Online”, your node will be fully operational, sharing bandwidth and earning MYST.

Mysterium Token (MYST)

MYST is a utility token that incentivizes users for sharing their unused bandwidth. It’s the currency that node runners get as a compensation.

This incentive encourages each node runner to provide the best service possible so that more people join the network and use its services, thus generating more revenue.

How Much Can You Earn as a MYST Node Runner?

Node runner earnings depend on how much traffic passes through their nodes. To view network-wide earnings, visit Mysterium’s Grafana page.

Currently, the US and UK top the earnings chart with 91,335 MYST and 49,796 MYST, respectively. The network processes around 80 TB of traffic daily.

Both residential and data center IPs can be used, and the more nodes exist globally, the stronger and more attractive the network becomes.

In countries with fewer nodes, there’s a greater demand for new node runners, meaning higher earning potential. Areas with many active nodes still generate revenue, though, especially if using residential IPs, which provide faster, more stable connections.

Even though residential IPs are more valuable compared to data center IPs, both types strengthen the network and encourage more users, boosting overall earnings for all participants.

Summing up, Mysterium is all about building a secure, censorship-free internet that anyone can access, without relying on any central authority. Besides, setting up a MYST node is surprisingly simple, even for crypto beginners.

The project strikes a unique balance between privacy, simplicity, and community, making it great for anyone who values internet freedom and wants to make an impact while earning on the side.
