MoMA apologises to artist Heather Agyepong, who was ejected from exhibit meant as secure area for Black guests

The Museum of Fashionable Artwork (MoMA) in New York has issued an apology to the British Ghanian artist Heather Agyepong after she was ejected from an set up hosted within the museum and meant particularly as a secure and restful setting for Black guests.

In an announcement to The Artwork Newspaper, a MoMA spokesperson pledged the museum will do extra to “shield the experiences of Black guests and guests from Indigenous communities and communities of color” in response to the altercation—and can now “discover” bespoke employees coaching.

On 25 March, Agyepong posted a video on Twitter during which she claimed she was requested to go away an exhibit after her interplay with one other customer led that particular person to complain to museum workers that Agyepong was “aggressive”.
