- Faster Transaction Confirmations: Token holders and decentralized app (DApp) users will benefit from transactions being finalized in seconds instead of hours, significantly improving user experience, network efficiency, and transaction reliability. This rapid finality could attract more developers to build DApps on Filecoin, further boosting its ecosystem.
- Seamless Cross-Chain Operations: Oracles and blockchain bridges can confirm transactions and state changes almost instantly. This advancement opens doors for cross-chain decentralized applications (DApps), where developers can seamlessly link other blockchains to Filecoin’s storage network. For example, DApps on Ethereum or Solana could publish storage deals to Filecoin with near-instant confirmation.
- Better Storage Provider Onboarding: Storage providers using services like Lotus Miner, Venus, Curio, or participating in the Ramo network will experience faster data onboarding processes without requiring additional hardware or major operational changes. Although initial deployment was targeted for nv24, late-stage tests revealed two critical issues, delaying the upgrade’s release.
These issues have since been resolved, and the network is now undergoing final testing in preparation for Mainnet deployment in January 2025.
