ATMTA, the team behind Star Atlas
The developers aim to make the experience more interactive by introducing artificial intelligence (AI) agents that can adapt to how people play. These agents are powered by SingularityNET’s AI systems, AIRIS, and OpenCog Hyperon.
AIRIS works by picking up patterns from its surroundings. OpenCog Hyperon uses past data to make decisions and solve problems. Together, these tools will allow in-game characters to act and grow in ways that feel more natural and responsive.

ATMTA hopes these AI tools will improve how players interact with the game. The studio also wants to use them to handle things like helping new users, tracking progress, running quests, and supporting the in-game economy.
ATMTA’s co-founder and CEO, Michael Wagner, said the goal is to build more flexible and personal gameplay.
Additionally, SingularityNET’s founder, Dr. Ben Goertzel, explained that this partnership is not just about making the game more engaging. He said that by adding AI to a virtual world like Star Atlas, players and machines can grow together in a space that reflects real-world systems over time.
Star Atlas is set far in the future, in the year 2620. It mixes role-playing, exploration, and blockchain features. While the full version is still in progress, a test version called the “Showroom” has been available since September 2022.
