Tether introduced a new project called QVAC on May 14, which is built to run artificial intelligence (AI) directly on personal devices, without relying on cloud servers or data centers.
In an announcement dated May 14, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the platform is meant to give more control to users. He said the goal is to stop companies from gathering personal information through centralized systems and instead let people run AI privately on their own devices.
QVAC is described as a full platform that supports many different AI tools. Ardoino believes that to make real progress, AI should be available everywhere and not controlled by a few companies.

He called QVAC an “infinite intelligence platform”, built to support wide use without needing internet access or company-owned infrastructure.
Tether said the platform can handle huge numbers of AI agents that run across all kinds of devices, from phones and computers to more advanced tech. These agents can work on their own and, if needed, send or receive payments in Bitcoin
The company plans to release a free development toolkit later this year. This will allow programmers to build AI applications that do not need cloud services. Ardoino stated:
QVAC is built to change this dynamic, making AI local-first, private, and independent, putting users back in charge of their data, their computation, and their autonomy.
