South Park has turned its attention to online prediction platforms in its 27th season.

The latest episode, Conflict of Interest, moves away from topics like cryptocurrencies and political drama to explore how people use apps to bet on real-world events.

Set in the familiar setting of South Park Elementary, the episode follows students who start making bets on everything from school lunch menus to international conflicts. The story uses a fictional app that closely mirrors real services such as Kalshi and Polymarket.

Among the scenarios they gamble on are the outcome of the Israel-Palestine conflict and even the gender of a baby.

Government oversight becomes a central theme as the episode lightly pokes fun at US regulatory agencies. It presents officials from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as overly polished “strategic advisers”.

A character resembling Donald Trump Jr. also appears. It refers to his actual advisory roles at both Polymarket and Kalshi.

While the show often targets cryptocurrency and blockchain culture, this episode takes a slightly different route. Instead of focusing on the technology itself, the episode examines how such tools are used and the individuals who control them.

Still, it aligns with earlier episodes that have ridiculed Bitcoin

, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and other trends tied to speculative investments.

Recently, South Park aired an episode titled Sickofancy on August 20. What is it about? Read the full story.
