GitHub has launched Agent HQ, a new tool designed to help developers manage various artificial intelligence (AI) coding assistants in one place.
This interface lets users work with agents from different AI companies, including OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI, Cognition, and GitHub itself, without switching between platforms.
According to GitHub’s Chief Operating Officer, Kyle Daigle, the goal is to bring structure to what can be a scattered and complex setup.

He told CNBC in an interview that while many agents offer useful features, developers can find it hard to manage them all efficiently. Agent HQ aims to solve that by putting everything in one spot.
From the control panel, users can monitor the activity of different agents. If something goes off track, they can step in and redirect the task right away. This real-time control helps teams stay focused and avoid delays.
Access to these third-party agents will be gradually made available. GitHub shared that Copilot subscribers will see these additions in the coming months.
However, users with Copilot Pro+ already have access to OpenAI Codex within the VS Code Insiders environment starting this week.
Daigle stated that they want to ensure the growing number of AI tools does not lead to confusion.
