Binance launches a $60,000 hackathon to promote its Agent OS AI platform. Developers can submit until September 8, 2026.
Binance has kicked off the Binance Agent OS Mini Hackathon, a week-long challenge aimed at developers interested in building with the crypto exchange’s AI integration platform, Binance Agent OS. The event, running until September 8, 2026 at 23:59 UTC, offers a $60,000 USDC prize pool split across two tracks. Participants have the opportunity to showcase innovations in AI agents and crypto workflows.
The hackathon is structured into two distinct tracks. Track A, with a $20,000 prize pool, challenges developers to create AI agents using Binance Agent OS. Track B, the larger track with $40,000 in prizes, focuses on connecting Model Context Protocols (MCPs) to enable trading and other crypto functionalities. Entries must include a demo or video submission, relevant GitHub repositories, and a completed survey, according to Binance’s instructions.
Binance Agent OS, launched on August 20, 2026, serves as an infrastructure layer for integrating AI tools with Binance’s trading, wallet, and market data capabilities. Developers can use the platform to connect AI agents to live market data, account balances, and trading functionalities, provided users grant the necessary permissions. Early use cases, highlighted by Binance, include automated trading workflows and advanced account management tools.
The hackathon underscores Binance’s push to position Agent OS as a critical tool for creating what it calls “agentic crypto experiences.” By enabling developers to integrate AI agents with Binance APIs, the platform aims to streamline complex trading workflows and expand the application of AI in crypto markets.
However, participation in the hackathon is restricted in key jurisdictions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Hong Kong, and Singapore, due to regulatory limitations. Binance has emphasized that the hackathon is not an offer to trade financial products, highlighting its cautious approach amid ongoing global regulatory scrutiny.
