COTI Brings Private Computation to Avalanche
Privacy-on-Demand is designed to work on top of existing Avalanche applications, tokens, and smart contracts. Developers do not need to move their assets to a dedicated privacy chain to use COTI’s infrastructure.
The system handles sensitive data in a private way and provides an encrypted answer. With this, transactions will retain their data and business logic without revealing the underlying assets’ details to the applications.
The infrastructure can enable multiple use cases for crypto, such as private stablecoin transfers, confidential payments, private DeFi, tokenized assets and more that demand selective data disclosure, COTI reminds.
The same measurement also works for Avalanche L1s. Projects can incorporate privacy options without constructing a new infrastructure with a separate network.

Garbled Circuits Power the Privacy Layer
The technology behind COTI is based on multi-party computation known as Garbled Circuits, which enables a calculation to be performed without revealing the actual data.
COTI also says that it runs up to 3,000 times faster and 250 times less weight than other privacy technologies, although it compared them based on its own advantages.
Private AVAX and USDC Arrive on C-Chain
This launch also sees the introduction of COTI’s Privacy Portal to Avalanche C-Chain. The portal enables users to make tokens private in a fairly straight-forward way. Private balances exist at launch, and at any point in time a user can opt to send/receive and hold AVAX and USDC while keeping their private balance data only visible to them.
Users can also take assets back down to the public side if necessary. That allows Avalanche users to test out and practice confidential transactions without leaving the platform. With regard to stablecoins, the attribute may enable payment, settlement, and other scenarios that require private disclosure of balances or settlement amounts being made.
Privacy Targets Avalanche’s Growing Crypto Economy
COTI is preparing the infrastructure for more than private transfers of tokens. The company cites opportunities in tokenization of real world assets, stablecoins, payments, payroll, private DeFi, and Avalanche L1s. Private computation may also be used, to provide a limited amount of public data with custom business logic by the developer.
Selective disclosure is another part of the design. The necessary data can be made available to authorized parties when required for compliance or verification, whilst still leaving other data private by default.
